GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN
MOUNTAIN VIEWS, BOATS AND A MOUNTAIN COASTER
My friend Jazmine and I recently took a 3 day trip to my absolute favorite part of Germany. We stayed in a log cabin in Garmisch-Partenkiorchen, Bavaria which is about 5 1\2 hours from the KMC area. We were basically right on the border of Austria! We got to visit Lake Eibsee and Zugspitze, which is Germany's highest peak (2,962m). We also got to ride the Alpine Coaster in Oberammergau where we got to ride a self operated coaster through the mountain!
It took us about 3 hours to figure out the bus situation to Zugspitze but after a lot of back and forth hikes we got it figured out and were able to get on the bus. The parking lot was SO full that the bus was our only option but fortunately our log cabin reservation came with two free bus tickets, which was extremely convenient! We rented a bicycle boat for Lake Eibsee, I think that's what they're called anyways.. We explored the lake for about 2 hours until we headed to our next adventure which was the Alpine Coaster! Oh, and the cows were adorable.
